Study Session - "The Mishkan" - March 1, 2009

From Michael:

"Do your eyes glaze over every year when we reach the current point in the cycle of Torah readings, and we enter the second half of the Book of Exodus? No more Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner, just an endless stream of details, especially on how to construct the Mishkan (Tabernacle) , seemingly so remote from our lives both practically and spiritually?

"Nachmanides has a very interesting view of the Book of Exodus as a thematically coherent whole, of which the construction of the Mishkan -- whose role was to perpetuate the experience of Sinai -- is an essential part. We'll study together a portion of the debate among Rashi, Maimonides, and Nachmanides on the meaning of the Mishkan, and reflect on the implications of this debate for the meaning of our own davening experience."
